由于此前利拉德经纪人表态，利拉德只想为热火效力。NBA官方今日派发了关于利拉德交易立场的警告声明：利拉德及其经纪人否认曾向任何球队表态或暗示利拉德拒绝为其效力，不论出现任何交易情况，利拉德都会履行合同义务。若未来利拉德及其经纪人出现问题，可能会遭到联盟处罚。（其他球员的类似行为同样如此）
